Start with the home you have.

Make a short list of what you already know: your roof’s age, any planned roof work, and changes you are considering for the house. You do not need every answer before you start. Knowing which questions are still open is useful, too.

Bring the questions, not just the bill.

Gather recent electricity statements if you have them. Write down why you are exploring solar: understanding your options, generating electricity at home, or considering storage. These priorities help give the conversation a direction.

Ask for a clear next step.

Before the conversation ends, ask what information is still needed, who will review it, and what you should expect next. Keep your notes together so you can compare explanations without relying on memory.
